Saint-Tropez isn’t an overrated place for celebrities and their yachts. The town is beautiful with relaxed, summertime vibes and many beaches!
You know, we came here thinking it was not going to be that great and it was really just where celebrities docked their yachts. Well, Saint-Tropez proved us wrong and we loved it way more than we expected to! We took the time to explore the best of what the area has to offer, including a bit of the outskirts!

Cutest Place to Stay
Outside of Saint-Tropez is Ramatuelle, where Hotel Saint-Vincent is situated on a beautiful vineyard property. The breakfast is filling, there is a huge pool, and there is a pool-side café, all overlooking the vineyards.
The rooms are huge, simple, affordable and reminiscent of homes in the south. This is the perfect home base to explore Saint-Tropez and the surrounding beaches! The bathroom was also gigantic and the closet space was more than enough for all 6 pieces of luggage that we had.
The beach is a walk or short drive away from this hotel. The center of Saint-Tropez is about a 10 minute drive away.
Let’s Explore Saint-Tropez!
The best part of being in Saint-Tropez is exploring the narrow streets. The buildings here are colorful and beautiful. I expected Provençal villages to be this enchanting, but not Saint-Tropez, and it shocked me in the best way- Now let’s take a stroll and I’ll show you the best sights!
Last stop – Dior Des Lices for a croissant and coffee!
Lavish Beach Clubs
Are you ready to hit the beach? We could go to the free public access spots on the beach, but c’mon we are in Saint-Tropez for only a little while, so let’s live it up!
Where to Go
Between the bed rentals, food, and drinks, we dropped under a couple hundred euro for half the day. Half-day rental was perfect for us- we aren’t really full day beach-goers. There are half and full day rates at most beach clubs. Usually beach clubs require reservations and you wouldn’t have a spot if you showed up on a normal summer day. It was a dream for us to just walk in and claim two beds with no reservation. I highly recommend to call ahead to reserve at these popular beach clubs once borders reopen. La Serena beach club in Saint-Tropez is close to the famous Le Club 55 (which is trendy but doesn’t live up to the hype or price) and Tahiti beach is walking distance from Hotel Saint Vincent! Lastly, all these clubs have large paid parking lots so if you have to drive, parking is a breeze.
There are some resorts in the area that include the beach beds & towels in your nightly rate, which would make sense for those who solely want to spend everyday at the beach! Our petit hotel was a perfect home base for our daily adventures and a couple half days at the beach were perfect for us.
Ending the day
There is no better way to end the day than a pre-dinner dip in the pool back at your hotel. Some nights you can take advantage of dinner right here in the café (and it’s very good!) or venture to a couple of popular spots in the area.
Where to go for Dinner
The hotel owners told us about the best Italian restaurant walking distance a couple minutes from the hotel, and after a long day, that sounded perfect. La Pomme de Pin in Ramatuelle was exceptional and a local secret. Being a 10-15 minute drive from the center of Saint-Tropez, not many tourists know about this establishment. The fresh pasta and seafood were top notch! One down side was that the tables were pretty close, which I was not very keen about during the pandemic. Thankfully we were seated outside and I asked to sit closer to the side, away from the table smokers (yes, there are still many people that smoke in France, only God knows why).
Another amazing place is right on the Saint-Tropez marina called Le Petit Plage. It’s perfect for a good meal, atmosphere and sunset with a view of all the yachts!
A few days in Saint-Tropez was exactly the luxury relaxation we needed in preparation for our adventurous trek north into Provence! Make sure to come along for the ride:
