The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson, New York is the perfect outdoor Halloween event for all ages. Enjoy some hot chocolate (or something stronger) and pumpkin displays!
I’ve been going to this Halloween event since I was a kid and it never gets old! It only gets better as time goes on- and every couple of years they add new beautiful pumpkin art to the mix. We are going again this year and will update this post with anything new! This is the perfect pre and post Halloween festivity that you could do, however it sells out quickly for the weekends so my suggestion is to either book early, go during the week (less crowds), or go in November!
What’s so special about this? There are more than 7,000 illuminated artificial and real HAND CARVED pumpkins on display, as iconic structures, scary creatures, and even on motorized platforms.
When you walk in, there are a couple tents to buy yourself hot cider, hot chocolate and delish desserts or popcorn to fill you up before the Blaze starts. Now they have a beer/hard cider tent sponsored by Captain Lawrence Brewery! We picked up a couple of hot apple ciders, an orange and black cookie and headed into the Blaze.
I don’t want to give away too much because you have to really be there to enjoy it all. But I will say, DRESS WARM. You won’t regret it. Hot cider temporarily helps, but you will most likely spend an hour or so here and you want to really enjoy it without constantly thinking about how cold you are.
This one creeps me out the most- EW SPIDERS…but so cool right?
If I haven’t convinced you to buy a ticket to this yet…check out the other photos below of more beautiful structures new and old!
Make your plans to go this year or next year! Tickets can be bought in early September and are sold throughout the month of November. Make it a family night or just a date night, you really can’t go wrong. I brought my favorite date of all 🙂Â
HAPPY FALL AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
